Curriculum Pick Me Kindergarten

We are learning today for the jobs of the future

It combines the ideas of traditional Romanian pedagogy with the essential principles of British education. Pick Me Kindergarten is authorized by ARACIP, and the British accreditation offered by COBIS enriches the learning experience of our preschoolers. Teaching staff promote learning through play, exploration, projects and extracurricular activities.

It covers the mastery of oral and written expression, but also the ability to understand verbal and written communication. Through the activities carried out, the creativity and expressiveness of the oral language is developed, at the same time educating the correct expression from the phonetic, lexical and syntactic point of view of the little ones.

It involves offering opportunities to develop and strengthen counting skills, to perform simple additions and subtractions, to recognize and describe shapes, spaces and units of measure, but also environmental awareness activities.

It puts into practice the best experiences in order to prepare children and guide them towards understanding the world and the community through exploration, observing people and the environment, but also through educational activities for society, hygienic-sanitary, ecological and practical activities.

It helps children to explore and play with a wide range of materials and at the same time encourages them to express their thoughts, emotions and feelings through a varied range of activities that include: art, music, movement, dance, role play and drawing.

Children interact with others, develop their coordination, control and movements, understanding the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Unique elements of the curriculum

Education adapted to the needs of children and parents

In the Pick Me Academy kindergarten, the assessment of children takes into account the following aspects: personal, emotional and social development, language development and communication skills, psycho-motor development and cognitive development. Through the observation method, teachers complete a progress report twice a year (end of January and end of June). Also, the evaluation process includes a direct meeting between the parents and the teachers of the class, to discuss the progress made by the child during the semester. In order to maintain open communication, parents are informed daily about the activities in which the child participated, the progress in a certain field, but also about the relationships with the other colleagues.

Learning a second foreign language has many benefits for children, helping them develop better critical thinking, problem-solving skills, while stimulating their memory and ability to concentrate. EAL is an English language learning program, through which children learn to speak, read and write in English. In this program, the stories, the visual support, the use of songs and the transformation of the lessons into a game are the best ways to involve the children in the learning process.

Through the Jolly Phonics program, the elements of the English language are acquired in a natural way, with a focus on kinesthetic skills (movements and actions), following which listening and speaking skills are gradually developed effectively. This is a program aimed at preschool children, which starts with learning the 42 sounds of the English language through age-appropriate activities (stories, songs, language games), thus acquiring the necessary skills for learning to read and write in English.
